Jesus Gave Christina Victory, Healing, and a New Life.
“…anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
2 Corinthians 5:17
At Waterline we believe it is essential that we share our stories of new lives that have begun. Part of loving God and loving others is telling them about the incredible things He has done in us. Not only does our storytelling solidify our own faith, but it inspires faith in others.
On October 15th, 2017, we “went purple” at Waterline to highlight the important ministry of Prevail Inc. in our community. Prevail has served our community effectively for over thirty years. They come alongside people in their darkest hours of domestic abuse, safely and kindly walking with them along the road of healing. Many of our very own people have traveled this road with Prevail, and have found the hope of Christ.
As part of our “Go Purple” Sunday, we highlighted one such story. Christina’s life was riddled with abuse from an early age, making her feel ugly, unloved, and alone. And because she thought the abuse was her own fault, it was a long time before she sought any help. When she did, she found victory, healing, and new life. We share her story so that you, too, can find freedom and experience the transformation that only Jesus can bring.
Domestic abuse is not your fault, and it is never acceptable. There is LIFE on the other side of it in the healing work of Jesus Christ. You are not alone, and you are not unloved. If you, or anyone you know, is being abused, please reach out for help.
